Macrium Reflect Rescue Media: Wim PE10 or PE11

When building a rescue media for Windows 10 22H2, can you use Windows PE11 and would that be backward compatible for Windows 10?

These settings are in the advanced options under choose Base WIM.

Yes that did work on one of my win 10 computers. Macrium Reflect usually defaults to the correct one it needs. My advice is to make a rescue media and then test it out to make sure that when you will rely on it. it will work in the future.

Thanks.  The reason I was testing out all of the options was because my Bluetooth mouse doesn’t work. In fact it doesn’t work on any (RE, PE10 or 11.  And unfortunately, neither does the touchpad. So I don’t see any way that I can use Macrium on the laptop.

I normally use my laptop via Synegry KVM software so I can use my main keyboard and mouse. Of course this doesn’t work when I need to boot from the Recovery USB. For this reason I keep an external USB KBD and Mouse. You don’t need it often but it’s there when you need it. I do this even though Reflect does recognize my laptop’s track pad and kbd but the big ones are just easier to use for these old fingers.

My advice would be don’t use a bluetooth mouse for recovery.

Buy a wired USB mouse for using with the recovery process environment

I know when building a Macrium recovery, you can see a list of what drives it builds and what it can not.
