Curious whether any Macrium Reflect users have used the Rescue Media on systems with a PS2 Standard Keyboard and Mouse and would be willing to share how well that works and whether any issues encountered.
I have experienced sporadic instances where the PS2 keyboard and mouse become unresponsive after booting with Macrium Reflect Rescue Media.
The system in question is a Windows 7 Home 32 bit with PS2 keyboard and mouse (ie old).
The Rescue Media was built to USB flash drive using installed Macrium Reflect Home v8.
My first try at Rescue Media build to USB was to use PE10, but when I tested and hit the unresponsive keyboard and mouse, thought maybe I overreached with PE10.
So my next try was to build Rescue Media using PE3 but I ran into the same issue.
Last try was to build Rescue Media using WinRE which surely must work and did appear so until one time it did not.
Interestingly, it always starts with the mouse working making me think all is well. But then when I try to type using the keyboard, not only does the keyboard not work, but the mouse stops working as well (ie both become non-responsive). But this is sporadic and unpredictable.
All this seems impossible since booting into my Windows 7 Recovery Environment never has problems with keyboard or mouse.
That said, my past few boots using the Rescue Media have not run into any keyboard or mouse issues. But my past tries have me skittish about betting the farm should I really need the Macrium Reflect Rescue Media to work some day.
This sounds like a user problem even to me as it does not seem possible.
Symptoms make me think about things like drivers or device conflicts. But no thought of why booting into Windows 7 Recovery Environment without Macrium never has problems.
So, not expecting a solution – just wondering how others have fared with a PS2 Keyboard and Mouse with Macrium Reflect.
I do not have any problems with Macrium Reflect Rescue Media on any other system – only the old one with the PS2 keyboard and mouse.
