Can I make my CD Rom drive to be referenced as drive Z:? An old midi player of mine has all its playlists and files stored on CD and the playlists all reference drive Z: explicitly. Because that is where the files were when I built up the playlists.

    Regards

From account with Administrator privileges, click Start | Run, type DISKMGMT.MSC and hit Enter. Then on bottom pane navigate to your CD-ROM drive and right-click on left grey area where CD-ROM icon is. From pop-up menu choose “Change Drive Letter and Path”, then on the next screen click “Change” button. From drop-down list on the right choose “Z”. Click OK and confirm your choice. Close the Disk Management console.

Many thanks. I may not have known the answer, but I can take a modicum of pride in knowing where to ask my question.

        Thanks again
