Client running a W2K virtual machine has lost the option to open or create zip files. I have some info that we’ve used on XP boxes but does anyone have information or tips for repairing the zip function on a W2K box?

    Thanks,

Windows XP has built-in support for zip files for basic operations.

On an older OS you would need a separate archive program.

I don’t believe Windows 2000 has builtin ZIP capabilites as XP does. You had to use a third party program. Make sure the utility is installed in the VM.

You are correct about native zip handling so I am now trying to get the offshore client to confirm what they were using to handle the zip files. We have an enterprise license for those who need it and our script does work for W2K.

      Thanks for the confirmation.
