AskWoody LoungerMay 16, 2012 at 12:35 pm #483276Don’t know when it happened, but I seem to have lost Windows Installer; I just noticed after trying to install MS updates. I have tried just about everything I could find on MS Support and Google search over the last few days, but none of the “fixes” seem to apply to Vista SP-2. I tried several of the Standalone Update Installers, but none apply to SP-2. Aside from re-install of the OS, does anyone have any suggestions? My skill set it somewhat less than messing with the registry.Viewing 3 reply threadsAuthorReplies-

AskWoody LoungerMay 17, 2012 at 11:12 am #1333036Thanks, once again, Jerry but Method 4 did not work and Method 5 (as far as I can tell) does not reveal any downloads that can be used with SP-2. I tried several anyway on the MS site, but got messages on version incompatibility. Just a thought, but can I revert back to SP-1, re-install Installer, and then update to SP-2 again? Not sure how to do that, but would that be a valid consideration?
