• Lost auto URLs (2000 SP1)

After installing IE6 (final) I seem to have lost the ability of clicking on a URL in a html email in OL2000, which opened that page automatically in the browser.
Clicking will open a browser window, but will not take me to that page. It merely stays blank.
    I am running Win2000 Pro.

    Any ideas?

      Check:

        OK Thanks for that, Leif.
I have done that. Now, after clicking a URL in OL, IE6 opens and goes to that address. Great.
However, on clicking subsequent links, the opened IE6 window becomes the focus, but does not change content to the new URL, which was previously how it worked.

Not sure if I know the answer to that.
Did you “repeat the process for other URL protocol file types” as the article suggested?
If so, the only other thing to try might be what is suggested in:
Q291859 Internet Explorer Home Page Opens When You Click a Link That Is Pasted into an E-mail Message
          – I know it’s not what you are experiencing, but is similar in that it is not following the specific URL being pointed to.

Just for the heck of it, I attach a pic of my settings (running W2K) which may make it clearer.

            Most greatful to you, Leif.

It was the WWW_OpenURL setting that was missing.
            All works again.

Thanks again (I love this forum!)
