Lost ability to map a network drive (XP Pro SP2)

I’m a network administrator on a small network. I have often used the ability to map a network administrative share on another computer

e.g. Z: as OtherC$

After SP2 (I’m assuming this is the culprit) I’m getting error messages when I attempt to map as above or to look at properties. I think I blame the new firewall but I’m guessing.

Anyone got any ideas?
I also run active Directory off a server – is there a Policy Setting that affects this?

This is indeed a side effect of Windows Firewall. There must be a Group Policy fix, although I have no idea what it might be.

Just posting back the solution – yes it was the firewall on individual clients
