Having trouble keeping the report page setups. Wanted report in landscape but keeps going back to portrait. Any ideas about keeping it the way it is setup? Thanks!!!

AskWoody LoungerSeptember 18, 2001 at 11:46 pm #1788475Give us more information. Is this happening to the same report on the same machine with the same printer, or is it between machines or with different printers? What operating system and version are you running, and what service release of Office/Windows?
Oh, and this is a *report*, right, and not just a query you’re using as a report?

GuestSeptember 19, 2001 at 12:45 am #1788479This is happening to the same report, computer and printer. Didn’t think computer and printer made a difference, for future reference – would it?
OS: Win 2000 SP2.
Access 2000 – Strange thing though – I found on MS support SP-2 and proceeded to download it… for some reason it was taking a bit longer and was acting weird during the download and installation automation… (A colleague next to me has the exact same computer as mine, however, with Win 2000 SP-1). I suspect that perhaps Win was updated to SP-2 not Access. POssible?
Anyways, Access 2000 (9.04402 sr-1)
Yes, this report is based on a select query. Meaning a prompt will come up and ask for a person’s name, based on that name all this data will show up in this report.

AskWoody LoungerSeptember 19, 2001 at 6:55 am #1788489Service packs for Windows are entirely separate from service releases for Office. SR-1 is still the release of choice for Office 2000, and it corrects the printer settings problem in other versions of Windows. I don’t run Win2000, so I don’t know what it’s up to these days.
It seems to me I’ve read posts on this problem between Win2000 and Office 2000, although I can’t locate any of them at the moment. The only other thing I can suggest is that you try turning off Name Autocorrect (Tools–>Options–>General) and see if that makes a difference. It was one of the workarounds for Access prior to SR-1, and it’s still worth a try.
Oh, one other thing would be to download and install the latest Jet 4.0 service pack, although the Windows service pack is supposed to eliminate the need for it in Windows 2000. You can find out more about it and/or download it from the Microsoft site at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/ar…s/q239/1/14.asp

AskWoody LoungerSeptember 19, 2001 at 7:04 am #1788490I forgot about part of your question. If you save a report on one machine, you save the settings, but you’ll lose those settings if you print to a different printer. The settings are printer specific.
It doesn’t matter if the report is *based* on a select query, but if the “report” *is* a select query, then your settings are never going to be saved because they are only saved for report objects, not for queries.
