Hi,
I’m on the hunt for 100% free icons. In particular, I’m looking for 4 arrows (up / down / left / right), preferable in different colours (green and red maybe) – anyone point me in the right direction?

I did hit google and didn’t get any good free sites that I could navigate / understand. I thought that VBA people would have a huge collection of their dearest icons that they might like to share. As it turned out, a work colleague pointed me towards the icons hidden in excel …
Set ctrl = Application.CommandBars("TestBar" & y).Controls.Add(Type:=msoControlButton, temporary:=True) With ctrl .FaceId = x .Caption = x End With
… where x is a number that controls which icon gets displayed. That gives me access to the everyday icons plus others and I have found some cool arrows.
Have a look at Excel Developer Tip: Identifying FaceID Values for CommandBar Images for a neat little add-in to browse all the FaceIDs… you might need it coz there’s lots of them.

Long time ago there used to be a lot of web sites where you could download “free” icons & other doodads like cursors, animated GIFs, etc. Now, as Hans alluded to, it seems all such sites are infested with viruses, spyware, popups, etc…. …Anyway if interested attached is a zip file w/some “arrow” type icons, bitmaps, and GIFs that I’ve accumulated from various sources over the years. The images are in separate folders based on file type. You may be able to use some of these, or modify as necessary if you have a good icon-editing program (they used to be free, too….)
