Looking for a free/low cost Adobe Acrobat alternative

I want to create a PDF name and address form using a PDF program and then put that form on my website.
When the end user finishes filling out the form I want them to be able to Save, Print & Email this form from my website

This is example of what I want to accomplish: Note: the buttons at bottom of form

Once the document is finished in the PDF program, how can I add the following buttons at the bottom of the document?

These will be for the end user after they are finished filling out the document:

Print – This should bring up the Windows Print Dialog Box so end user can print document on their computer
Save – This should allow the end user to save the document on their computer
Email – This should popup a email dialog box so the end user can email the filled out form to a pre-set email address (my email)

Is this possible with a free/low cost Adobe Acrobat alternative?

If so some program recommendations would be helpful

PDFescape works, apparently, but it is an online only service.

I opened the form in my Adobe Reader XI, fields could be filled in and the buttons at the bottom seemed to work as they should, opened the Print function, opened the Save function and opened Outlook [but I don’t have it set for sending]. One issue with the E-Mail is that assumes the use of an Installed E-Mail Client such as Outlook, many folks are using Webmail/Online E-Mail such as Hotmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, etc., and that may require Saving the form then sending as an attachment. Otherwise I’d upload the form to my Domain and test it. You could use the same name or if the site is only for the club I’d shorten it and put a link to it on the appropriate page.

I should mention that Firefox opened the file in Word but did give a choice to open in a different program and I chose Adobe Reader although it opens other .pdf files such as those linked from my newspaper’s Web pages in Adobe Reader. Maybe your version of Word doesn’t save as a proper .pdf format?

When I tested the email button using Adobe Reader 11.0.9, Reader popped up a dialog box asking me whether to use the default email application or a Web-based email service.
Berton’s experience seems different than this.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 is available as a free download from http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4683-adobe-acrobat-8-free.html – note the serial# mentioned there.

Has anyone used the ‘free’ Acrobat Pro 8 program mentioned by macropod. Specific question – are security updates provided against that serial number?

Acrobat Pro 8 is no longer being updated – it’s a superseded product. The last update was to version 8.3.1, which is what you download, and was issued some years ago. This has nothing to do with whatever serial # might be used. The same download is available from Adobe, too, but the link I posted has it all conveniently in one place.

You might look into PDF Architect. I haven’t tried it but have seen favourable reviews.
