We have a W2K server and I want to prevent it from logging off the administrator automatically after idle time. How do I do this?

I don’t think there is a normal setting to force a logoff after a specific idle time. This sounds like it is a screen saver response. You can have a screen saver lock your desktop, but you could also get screen savers (or build one) that either automatically have the ‘logoff’ option, or you can get some that let you ‘run’ an .exe or batch file. It is very easy to force a logoff through a batch or .exe.

I would be sniffing around the screen saver settings, to see if it’s the culprit.

What do you mean by ‘logging off’? Just losing the connection on mapped drives? Or losing the network priviliges?

Have you looked at “Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Domain Controller Security Policy | Security Settings |Local Policies | Security Options | Automatically log off users when logon time expires”? You may find an answer here.

I think that this one is used for users who have been allocated restricted logon hours. It determines what happens if they are already logged on at a time when a new login wouldn’t be allowed.
