In Excel it is possible to lock a cell. I know it is not possible in Word 2000, but has it become possible in Wind XP/Offive 2003?

It would have been excellent when making a form for people to fill in only in certain cells. The cells with a lead text should be locked.

    Does anyone know?

    Regards

In Office XP (Word 2002) the form protection still works by sections rather than any smaller unit. In Office 2003, the forms feature appears to be significantly more advanced, but I have only seen a demo, I haven’t tried it for myself.

          Hi Bjorn,

You cab also put Section breaks within a table, so that one or more rows is/are in a different section from others. You can even have more than one section break in the same table. You can’t use this to manage column protection, but even that could be got around by putting portions of the table into text boxes attached to the section(s) that you want to protect (or not).

          Cheers
