I added a new local user to a laptop. I want this user to be a PowerUser but they don’t seem to have the permissions of a PowerUser on files that are existing on the laptop. The only way I can get them to be able to open existing files is to either specifically go into the security on that file and add them as a user with modify rights or to give them overall administrator rights.

The user seems to have the correct modify rights on the folder but they are not being inherited by the files in that folder. Does “inheritance” only work on new files created?

    Thanks,

    Christa
