    Windows 7:

I have a user logging into her laptop on local account with 4GB in her My Document while while she has Offline Folder
Last week, my tech added added her laptop to the new Domian. She called in saying her My Documents folder was empty.

I lad her login as LOCALPCUserID and “showed” the hidden folders. I was able to find her My Documents with the Offline Folder icon. But when we tried to open it, I got the error: “Access Denied”

I have not tried logging in as an a Local Administrator yet. The User’s ID is in the Admin group for the local PC.

Is there a tool or a way to un-lock or open that locked Offline Folder?

    Thanks

Did you try right-clicking, choosing properties and then the security tab?

You probably need to “take ownership” of the folders and files via the security tab. Then you can change the security to whatever you require.

      cheers, Paul
