I have a document which loads with a “Load Font” error each time telling me of a missing font, Frutiger-BoldItalic.

The hard disk has been re-formatted since I wrote the document, and I’ve obviously not re-installed that font.

I haven’t been able to trace just where this font appears. Is there a way to find it so I can change it to one I do have installed. I can’t remember where it would have been installed from, so I can’t add it easily. I suspect as its a Bold Italic, that its in a heading somewhere.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I had a similar problem, I couldn’t find a way to find the offending characters however if you have word you can copy the text into Word and find/replace the Font that is no longer installed. Then you can copy it back into Publisher.

Hope that is of some help

Thanks I’ll give it a try.

I did that with a spelling error that I couldn’t find. It was overflow text, so didn’t display.

        I’ll let you know.

Not sure how to do this.

If I choose Find, I have to select an installed font, or is there another way to do it?

When you get to the Font dialog box you can just type in any font name and click OK. Word will find the font even if it isn’t installed.

              Thanks.

I solved it in the menatime inside publisher. I just selected as much text as I could at a time. If the named font box went blank, I knew there was more than 1 font in the selection. I could then narrow it down from there. This eventually found it for me.

Would anyone here have a clue about another font problem w/Publisher, but just the opposite of lost? After I reuse the same document but update it for this month’s pulication, I get an opening fonts dialog box stating “duplicate, subsetted” and asking whether to load or not. Makes no difference if I select yes of no.Trouble is the fonts are Arial, Time New Roman, Comic San MS etc., I’ve going through the document and deleted ALL TEXT so all is left is just the banner jpg and page formatting. No change. Still get the font message.
        Any Ideas appreaciated.
        Mike
