I just installed the LIve Essentials 2011 suite in Windows 7 in VMPlayer. It will accept images for processing but is not recognizing any video formats as valid. The requirements say DirectX 9 or higher and shader 2.0 or higher. I suspect the VMware SVGA 3D graphics adapter probably falls short in the 2.0 shader model category?

Is this the problem or is it something else. Is there a fix or workaround or is Windows Movie Maker 2011 and vm’s on the outs with one another?

Excuse my ignorance but what is VMPlayer?

It is really VMware Player – a virtual machine. See VMware Player[/url] for detailed information.
