When writing reports I insert a corrective action form, via a macro using file insert, and use the ListNum field to auto number each form sequentially. However, no matter how the numbering or outline numbering is formatted the number gets a close bracket ) inserted after the number.

    Can anyone help?

      Hi Phil:
I still have Word 2000, but if you insert a {listnum} field, the default is 1). However, if you use {listnum listnumbering}, you should get a number with a period. You could also use a SEQ field, which is more versatile.
      Hope this helps,

        Phil thanks for that

I couldn’t get the {ListNum listnumbering} field to work as required, I was using {ListNum 1}, and I couldn’t get the Seq to insert the next number, all the forms wound up being No. 1.
