So far I’ve being making a text file listing of folder contents by MS-DOS technique, which is a little tedious.
    f:dir folder1folder2folder3folder4 >dirf4.txt
and has plenty of opportunities for spelling errors.

Is there a way to make similar text file directly from Windows Explorer?

I don’t know of a way to do it from Windows Explorer but Karen’s FREE Directory Printer program lets you do it:

If you have ‘Display the full path…’ enabled in your Explorer setup:

it is possible to copy the full path from the address bar:

Is that what you are after?

That would certainly eliminate some of the spelling errors IF one could paste into the MS-DOS command line, but there still room to get wrong the command line parameters needed to get the filenames and none of the other directory data.

BigAl’s suggestion of Karen’s Directory Printer is a great answer to my need.
