Listening to radio interviewers, there are some who seem to just work through a prewritten scripts without taking much notice of the answers given. There was a lovely example of that here today.
We are having a period of extremely hot weather (45 deg c), and everyone is on very high fire alert.
The radio programs constantly cross to the fire authorities for an update on the threats and the situation.
First thing this morning:
Q: How many fires are actually burning at the moment?
A: None
Q: Are they all contained?
A: Well?? I just said there aren’t any fires.
