    Kaspersky released a free Linux virus removal tool

    “Concerned about viruses on your Linux computer? I tested Kaspersky’s new Virus Removal Tool for Linux. Here’s what you need to know about it. No operating system is 100% safe. As long as your computer is connected to a network, there is always the possibility that it can be compromised. These compromises can come by way of viruses, malware, or ransomware, each of which holds a particular danger. Such a possibility is why Kaspersky released its Virus Tool for Linux. According to the official announcement the “application can scan system memory, startup objects, boot sectors, and all files in the operating system for known malware.       I am just adding here for Linux, because I posted above info.

      Biden administration to ban Russian company’s antivirus software

      “The Biden administration is announcing plans to ban the sale of Kaspersky Lab’s antivirus software in the United States due to national security concerns, Reuters reports. Sources told Reuters that Kaspersky’s close ties to the Russian government pose a national security risk, potentially letting the company — and the Russian government — steal sensitive information from, install malware on, or withhold updates from Americans’ computers.”

      I decided to use the Clam antivirus/malware program on my LMC not so much for LM protection, but because I exchange some downloaded files with my Windows 7 which could be affected.  Clam is made for Linux, works well, and has not given me any problems.

      Being 20 something in the 70's was so much better than being 70 something in the insane 20's
