• Line Spacing Issues in documents

    Hi,

I am attaching two sample docs for reference which should look exactly the same, however the space between lines in one document looks greater that the other, but when I check the line spacing from the Paragraph option it is reflecting single in both the cases. Is there any other option in Word 2007 that sets the spacing between lines? Looking forward to your response.
    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

When I view these documents side by side in Word 2010, the line spacing for both is the same. Looking at the paragraph settings I see the same information too.

When I look at these in Word 97, I am seeing different line spacing, including spacing before the first line, but I don’t know why.

They have different compatibility settings (Word Options > Advanced). That said, I don’t know which of the checkboxes is doing it.

Edit: Sample2.doc probably is Sample.doc, but now I’m not sure…

On Word 97 all these options are not available. The one that is making the difference is: Use printer metrics to lay out document. Maybe they should call these options the Incompatibility Options.

The line spacing is exactly similar after selecting the required option from the Word Advanced Layout options. Thank you so much for your help.
