Letter Wizard (Office 2003)

I have a client who is using Office 2003 now. They originally did some Letter Wizard templates in Office 97. They are working fine EXCEPT some of the letters are printing off the page to the right. I’ve checked the margins, used the Print Preview, verified the paper size – all appears fine. Any suggestions?

Could you attach a (zipped) example? You can remove all corporate/sensitive data, or replace it with dummy text.

It seems to be fine here – that’s the problem. I have no copy that doesn’t work properly. I was wondering if someone knew if there was a setting that would ‘update’ the letter wizard from the Office 97 version to work properly with Office 2003. I know I had this issue come up with clients moving from Word Perfect and early Office Versions to Office 2000 and XP. I just can’t remember where that setting was.

Could it be something in the Compatibility Options tab of Tools | Options…?
Your client might try if toggling the “Use printer metrics to lay out document” option in this tab helps. If not, the original setting can be restored.

That makes a lot of sense – I’ll be speaking with the client before the end of the week. I’ll have him try that and keep my fingers crossed that it is that simple!
