Hi,
Are there any loungers out there that might know the secret to upgrading the SODIMM RAm in a Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15iBY.
This model has only one RAM slot/bay with standard out of the box 4GB RAM pre-installed.
Existing memory: 4GB DDR3 1333MHz PC3 non buffered non ECC 1.35-1.5V 204 pin
Attempted upgrading to 8GB with above spec RAM and the machine would not boot.
Also tried DDR3L 1600MHz PC3L 1.3V non buffered non ECC 204 pin and got same result, no boot and black screen
No memory check error shown, just a black screen
There appears to be no setting in BIOS relative to RAM memory
I have searched for days and not found definitive answers anywhere to the following:
– is the RAM maximum limit 4GB or can it be upgraded
Most RAM vendor sites e.g. Crucial, Kingston say it can be upgraded to 8GB max and I cannot find anything on Lenovo Web Support.
Any idea’s, anyone ??
Thanking you in anticipation . . . . .
Gordon.
