I have been unable to access the Lavasoft forums this weekend. I am using Ad-Aware Personal se, the non-supported one, on an old Win 98SE box. Up until this weekend I have had no trouble downloading the def files from the web site but this weekend when I start up the app with the new file I get an error as if the file is corrupted. I have downloaded the file several times with the same result.

I have attempted to access the forums to see if I am the only one with this issue but can’t even get to the forums and like many manufacturers’ sites, they do not have a way of contacting them directly unless you are a licensed user with a secret handshake.

Anyone able to access Lavasoft’s forums or have an issue with the current def.zip file, dated 5/15/2–8?

The download link is found on Lavasoft Research Blog – Lavasoft at the top right. This has redirected me to the zip file download automatically and it behaves the same as before but the file appears to be corrupted.

The supprot forums link is on the main page, near the bottom left Ad-Aware @ Lavasoft – The Original Anti-Spyware Company – Lavasoft

    Thanks,

    Jester

I have no problem downloading the zip file and opening it (I can’t actually test it since I’m using AdAware 2007) or reaching the support forums.

I now can get to the forums as well, but I have not had any problems with the steps you have taken as I can download and open the def file. It just doesn’t like the se Personal version that used to work with it.

I will see what the forums say and wait until the next def file is released.

        Thanks,

        Jester

The forum is full of posts regarding failure to load the program after the current zip file is expanded and the application is started. Apparently there is much confusion over what is happening.

          Thanks again,

          Jester
