When I click on the TO button in a new email, I can select names from my global address list or my contacts. Both of these show up first name first (John Doe). Is it possible to have them show Last name first? (Doe, John) That is the way the are in my contacts but not if I click on the TO button and then go to contacts. Thanks

See Egghead’s Star Post for Contacts. (I honestly can’t remember if this also changes the GAL to Last, First.)

I saw that one but it didn’t work. I go to tools, Address Book, change to contacts but don’t have a File As button. I’m running OUtlook 2000 SP-3

Oops, my mistake, I missed that you are running Outlook 2000. if my memory serves correctly, open the Address Book Dialog, select the menu Tools | Options, and the First, Last option is either right there, or under Properties.

I checked there — I can set the order used to check for names and which book to use first, I don’t get the option to change the way the name is listed.
