A couple of nights ago I was starting to project from my laptop to the TV and before I accomplished that there was a flash of brightness on the laptop screen which very shortly reverted to normal. During the brief period of brightening, you could still see everything on the screen.
Next day, when I opened up the computer the screen looked brighter and with a bluer tint or colder display. I’ve restarted, shut down and started, updated to Win 10 22H2, looked for software updates from Dell. That resulted in updating the BIOS and a couple of other things but not the graphics software. I’ve also installed the current graphics software without uninstalling it first and none of these things solved the problem.
The display clearly looks different than it used to although not terribly different. I’ve also fixed the appearance by keeping night light turned on. Working with Dell I’ve run every diagnostic and nothing turns up as a problem. Now they want me to do a clean install of Windows which I would prefer not to do.
The PC is an Inspiron 5515 a little over a year old. Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics, 1801 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
Would uninstalling the graphics driver and then manually reinstalling be worth a try or does anyone have any other ideas regarding the problem and solution?
