AskWoody_MVPApril 18, 2022 at 9:37 am #2440244I’ve found Lance Whitney to be an engaging and intelligent writer. He obviously knows a lot of in-depth material, but he’s able to bring even complex topics down to a level where much less technical people, like myself and even less technical readers, can understand what we need to know.
In security tech writing, too often writers tell us of terrible new threats which are out there, with very few details about how we can take simple steps to protect ourselves. I come away from such writing thinking, “Now that I know all of that, what do I do?” Lance has often given me a sense of “Now I know what to do”. This is a trend throughout the Windows Secrets and AskWoody newsletters — telling and showing us “What do I do now?”.
Thanks Lance for the great writing , and here’s to much more to come!

AskWoody PlusApril 18, 2022 at 12:43 pm #2440282I agree with Lance , “Microsoft does have a tendency to shove things down your throat….”. I recently was updated to Windows 11 without my knowledge or consent. To add insult to injury, now I do not have a microphone, and it seems that I can only get it back if I enable Cortana, which I do not want running. If you have a suggestion, please share. Thanks for your post!
