In Access 2002 SP-3, is there a way I can set things up, when I open a database, to go to the first entry under, say, “K”, by pressing K on the keyboard?

      First entry in what?

      No, that is not possible.

If you create a form based on the table, and set that form as startup form (in Tools | Startup…), you could write code in the On Key Press event of the form to jump to a record, but I think it would have undesirable side effects. It would be better to use a combo box (dropdown list) or a series of buttons.

The attached database shows an approach with buttons representing the letters of the alphabet, based on an example by Microsoft.
