Is there a known keyboard shortcut to select all text in a table cell? In the same manner as Ctrl+A in a document?

The first one that comes to mind is : While in the cell, first press Home and then Shift+End

From Help:

ALT+5 on the numeric keypad (with NUM LOCK off)

Unfortunately neither works, the Home Shift End method selects only one line from where the cursor is placed.
The Num lock off alt 5 on num keyboard selects all of the text in all cells
I hope the attached gif will show the type of text I am trying to format.
It has been a long day trying to solve this.

Sorry, did not realise it was over multiple lines…

Tab or Shift+Tab work to select cells too, albeit in the adjacent cell. Your best bet for now is: Position the cursor in the preceding cell and press TAB (or if you are in the exact cell, TAB and then immediately SHIFT+TAB)

Sorry I misread the question.

The only other suggestion I have is Alt + A then C then E.

This just follows the menu commands to select a cell.

If you do this a lot record a macro to select the current cell, then assign a keyboard shortcut to that macro

Aha! John Hutchison’s post pointing out that there is a specific menu item for this made me realize there probably is a corresponding command name. One can assign a keyboard combination directly to it in this dialog:

Tools > Customize…, Commands tab, Keyboard… button: in the left column “Table” in the right column “TableSelectCell”

Thanks for all the help, I found that the cursor in the preceeding cell then Tab suited, the Menu Bar under table>and select from there was completely unknown. I must confess I won a free copy of Word 1 at it’s release in about 1990. Still have the disks.
I must start to remember “things”
Although I have since used the Keyboard shortcut and it is preferred.
