Can I add to this post an ask if anyone is aware of a keyboard shortcut to “Freeze Panes”. I know I can create one with a macro and assign it to a shortkey combination, but is there not one already available; and if not….I WONDER WHY?

Apart from the keystrokes to activate the menu item (Alt+W, F in the English language version), there is no built-in shortcut key for Freeze Panes.

As Hans states, there isn’t a native key combo for it. But there’s an Icon that you can drag onto your TB, if you wish; View | Toolbars | Customize | Commands Tab, under the “Window and Help” command listing; so you don’t need a macro.
