I have a user who doesn’t like to use the mouse. Does anyone know a keyboard command that will let her switch between the Find and Replace dialog box and data in a form object? While your at it, would the field she was to modify need to be the first field in the form? Thanks heaps, Judy

Ctrl-F will toggle the Find dialog and Esc will close it and return to wherever field the cursor was in. Unfortunately, your user is going to have to use the mouse to go to the Replace tab. At least, I haven’t found any other way that works. Some of the controls on the dialog have hot keys, but not all of them, so the user is still not going to be happy.

I have users that are keyboard fanatics too, but when they start using dialogs, they’re arguments get shaky because they are no longer doing straight data entry.

Shift+Tab then right arrow will get you to the replace tab. This works with other dialogues as well – property sheets, printer settings etc.

I always found that Ctrl+H brings up the Search and Replace box, just like the Ctrl+F brings up Find. You’ll need to either Esc or Tab to the close button to close down one box to bring up the another.

You’re right, and it’s a more direct method. I almost never use shortcut keys, so I had forgotten about this less than intuitive shortcut.

Thanks, Charlotte–I will let this keyboard person know her options. Judy
