Kensington mouse and Logitech keyboard don’t play well together. Help

I have a shiny new Kensington MP230L mouse and a shiny new Logitech K800 keyboard. Both are wireless and both have dongles. When they are installed together, the kb works fine and the mouse only intermittently, making it unusable. Any suggestions on getting competing brands to work together?

I couldn’t find any info to suggest that you could get one of the devices to change frequencies.

I guess the best option when trying to use equipment from different manufacturers is to use unifying receivers. It seems that the keyboard has such a receiver and the mouse does not support a unifying receiver. Without having the device or having had access to the manual, it’s hard to be definitive, but you may have to get another mouse.

Have to agree, it’s a frequency/interference issue, have seen it a few times with clients and only solution was for them to get both devices from the same brand or as a kit.

Before you wonder "Am I doing things right," ask "Am I doing the right things?"

Woods’ link covers what I was going to suggest: Make sure drivers for both devices are up to date, and move those dongles around to see if a position works better than the current one. Otherwise time to update the mouse–which sucks because you love your mouse–as ruirib indicates to one that supports a unified dongle.

Everyone,

After multiple experiments and reboots, I’ve given up on getting the Kensington mouse to work with the Logitech keyboard.

I have a tower-type case with front and back USB2 ports and USB3 ports behind. None of the configurations I tried (Kensington in front and Logitech behind or vice-versa, both in front and so on) produced a working solution.

I do like the feel of the Logitech keyboard which has continued to work without a hitch during the testing. Since I never really got a chance to know the Kensington mouse, it’s now history.
