I recently has a major crash of my main computer. After restoring from a backup, it was running, but now all “pause until” commands in Win Update were gone, and I was faced with “Restart and update.” I swallowed hard & did so. Now all updates seem to be OK, but the KB”that shall not be named” neither shows as installed or failed in both Win Update History and in Programs & Features.

As this install is an upgrade from Win 8.1 (and perhaps from Win 7), I have more than one Recovery Partition in my C: drive. As I understand it, only the partition which is located immediately after the System partition is active. I doubt this partition is big enough (530 MB) for the KB, but everything seems to be running OK. ??Any Comments??

I updated one of my test systems running Windows 10 Pro 19045 a week ago and Windows Update did not install the update for the Recovery Partition. The C: drive is not GPT and has an unused 100+ MB third partition after the 2047 GB C: partition followed by a 500+ MB fourth partition which is the working Recovery Partition.
