KB5018410 2022-10 CU for W10 21H2 installs but not in history

Windows 10 x64 Professional 21H2

Yesterday I unpaused the WU and KB5018410 2022-10 CU for W10 21H2 was downloaded and installed. Old PC so took some hours. WU then requests a restart. After restart the history did not show KB5018410 2022-10  but still shows 2022-09 CU as the last patch.

I turned off the PC and tried the PC again today. On start Windows wants to continue finishing setup but that was badgering me to sign up for a MS account. History still shows KB5018410 not installed and Windows says security is up to date.

What should I do? Wait for Nov’s patches and meanwhile hope for the best?

In Windows Update, click on “View history”
At the top left, above the history, click on “Uninstall updates”
That will show you what updates are actually installed on the computer.
“Update history” is just a log. It doesn’t necessarily reflect what is currently installed.

I installed KB5018410 for windows 10 21H2 on my backup PC and it resulted in consistent BSODs saying Boot Drive Inaccessible. Took me ages to finally uninstall the update to revert the machine back to normal

Restoring from image backup takes ~5 minutes.

Installed KB5018410 on my Windows 10 21H1. 0 problems, so upgraded to 22H2.

Do you use 3rd party hacking tools (Winaero, O&O..) in order to “fix” your PC ?
