Intended as a heads-up only.

Dell Inspiron 5379

KB5006670 from the update catalog. It ran, restarted then percentages updated as expected. However, it gave the message the update failed and reversed the update. Attempted twice.

Maybe next month. If that fails it might be time to think about H2

Sorry @Susan Bradley, I’m a lot slow getting back. I  only drive by occasionally and often don’t check my folder when I do. Hence ‘heads-up only’.

I always uninstall Edge (and now have the @PKCano block on top of any previous steps to block Microsoft’s insistence).

Pay particular attention to the 9/14/2021 Update.

I’m on 21H1 since Oct 10. I had no problems installing this KB two weeks ago. But I can’t access the page about it at Reddit on Fx 60.9 ESR and even on Basilisk (Fx fork that is completely current) I get weird stuff at Reddit so I can’t read that thread as I am not in the mood to try Edge and I will NEVER have Chrome browser on any of my computers. (I doubt that has anything to do with your problem though).

Try updating to 21H1 and then see if the patch will install.

EDIT: I was able to read the Reddit page by tryng Fx PORTABLE. Those posts make that KB sound really bad for many users. Many don’t say what version Windows 10 they are on. But something doesn’t like even current Fx Portable on this computer. I don’t use it often as I far prefer Fx 60.9 ESR version. Fx Portable is blinking and stuttering and it has always been stable in the past…wonder if it has to do with this patch?

Reddit posters can be gamers that overclock machines.  After a while you see patterns and if you remove the Edge browser, overclock your machine, use game hacks and cracking tools that try to get access to games you have more issues with updates.
