Microsoft Windows Update is currently offering me KB2565063 – “Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package” with a publication date of 4/5/2012.

I usually follow Susan Bradley’s helpful Patch Watch column very carefully, and I hold off or skip according to her advice.

Strangely, I cannot find any reference at all to this particular patch when I search the old columns, neither when I search the Lounge. I imagine that it is uncommon to find a patch which was not mentioned at all in this site. Is that true?

So I thought I would ask — have others here have installed KB2565063 without any problem?
This system is a Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit.

    Thank you!
(I hope this is the proper forum)

Generally Susan only offers advice on the Critical type patches, not on Optional patches. Since this is a Security Update, I’m surprised Susan did not mention it.
