Kaspersky 2010 has been working fine in a Win7 environment but recently stopped. Reinstalled program from CD. All well. Updated definitions. All well. Then responded to prompt to update program to newest version and after that was done it was no longer possible to get the program even to open. Any ideas? Thanks.

AskWoody LoungerApril 29, 2010 at 11:52 am #1221225Hi anntms,
Sometimes the newest version of a program can be problematic. I suggest uninstalling Kapersky and reinstalling the version that worked for you, and ignore prompts to update to the newest version. If there are killer bugs in the new version, they will get them fixed.
I had the same problem with Avast 5 on Windows 7. None of my protective shields were operative when I allowed the newest version of it to be installed. I removed it and installed from the executable I had earlier downloaded, and all worked well again. Eventually there was a more recent program update available, so I installed and that one worked well.
Hope this helps.

I would think the most up-to-date info would be to look for or ask in the
appropiate Kaspersky Support Forum at http://forum.kaspersky.com ;
have you done that !? -
