Just received sad news concerning Karenware and maybe the Karen’s Power Tools from Joe Winett who has been taking over since Karen passed away. I quote from Newsletter:
July 10, 2022 By Joe Winett FAREWELL I’m sorry I’m no longer able to maintain Kareware and it will soon be off the air. I apologize for making promises I couldn’t keep. Sincerely, Joe Winett

I am not sure exactly what “it will soon be off the air” means, but maybe now would be a good time to visit Karen’s Power Tools website and download at least the two most popular tools: Directory Printer and Replicator the awesome automatic backup tool.

Sad. Yet another end of an era for those of us who have been in the PC\Windows environment since the beginning . . . 🙁

I have been really disturbed by this, since on the website he says no one can write him as he is  “between homes”.  I am thinking that things have gone very wrong for him and he and his family are homeless.

I have been hoping that someone knows him personally and could find out, and I’d be glad to put up a GoFundMe page for him if that’s the case.  It’s been a damn rough last few years for many, and I just can’t sit by and see someone I know even to this limited extent without trying to help somehow.

Please do let me know if anyone has any further information.

Very sad news indeed. I am still using Karens tools for shure, never found a more handy and better for the “Directory Printer” to handle quickly my electronic collections of ebook-library and movies.

I think it’s amazing that Karen Kenworthy’s programs have been kept going for over 11 years since her untimely death.

I suppose it is always possible that another programmer might take on the maintenance job from Joe Winett?

I have been happily using Karen’s Replicator for a couple of years now, but today the log seems to have stopped working.  It doesn’t seem to be clearing.  Instructions appear that say I should save the log information in a text file, but when I try to do that the program stops responding and crashes.

Does anyone know a way to clear out the log other than to uninstall the whole program and reinstall it?

The log file (Replicator-log.txt) will be under either
C:\ProgramData\Karen’s Power Tools\Replicator (if you set it up for “All Users”)
        OR
C:\Users\<yourID>\AppData\Local\Karen’s Power Tools\Replicator (for one User)

Thank you so much!  Finding the log via AppData got me to the point where I was able to erase it.  Your help was very valuable to me.  Thanks again.
