    Hello y’all,

We are so frustrated. We recently dove into the digital movie hobby and purchased a JVC Everio Hybrid Camera, Model GZ-MG37U.

When we try to connect this GZ-MG37U to our HP Pavilion a1750u PC with WIndows Vista Home Premium using the provided USB cable, we get an error message that says the “USB device is unknown.” I’m not sure how to fix this, but it works fine on our Dell with WIndows XP home.

We’ve installed the software that came with camera, and can import video on our Windows XP, but until we get past the USB device unknow error we are dead in the water with VISTA. 🙁

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

I searched the JVC support web space to no success, only frustration! Can we get drivers for this camera?

    Thanks so much,
    Rich

As per the JVC site , it looks like you’re going to have to wait until at least the end of March.

      Try:
      1) right click the install file click click “run as administrator”. 2)After the program installs right click the program file and “run as administrator”.

The “Run as administrator” option is fine, BUT if the drivers are NOT Vista drivers, problems will follow. Many applications which are not officially certified to run on Vista will work, but drivers are an entirely different matter. From what I’ve seen, the odd XP driver may work, but the majority will not.
