• Junk email Filters (Office 2007)

I run Office 2007 and Vista Home Premium. I have updates set to notify me, but in practice I usually install all updates (frequently a day or so after release).

I have noticed a problem with my Junk e-mail Filter. My preferred choice is “No automatic filtering” as I also run Spambayes which I find to be very effective at managing my spam.

However the last few days, it seems that my settings keep getting changed to “Low” rather than “no” filtering.

I cannot identify when or how this changes, but I have re-set it a number of times to “No”” filtering (I’ve tested it with a re-boot also) but later that day when I check my email it appears back at “low”.

Am I imagining this, or have I cocked something up?

    Any comments welcome.

    Thanks

    Colin

I posted this some time ago, but never got any response. I then posted it in the MS Community board and again never got a response.

Does no-one else have this problem?

Do you run anything like SpyBot or a security suite that might block registry changes?

Now there’s a thought. I do run Spybot, but not the Teatimer bit, so it shouldn’t be that, but I’ll uninstall and test. I’ve also got Adaware & CounterSpy, so I’ll check those too. Only CounterSpy runs all the time. Windows Defender is turned off.

          Thanks.

At last I’ve got something to try. Even if it doesn’t work, I’d feel happier trying something.
