JavaScript options in fx 1.5 vs. fx 1.07 (fx 1.5)

Hi everyone!

I installed the new fx 1.5 when it was released, thankfully released simultaneously in several languages. With a new release, such as this, I always go through the settings to see what has changed etc.

In earlier versions I have had JavaScript enabled but nothing else under “Advanced”. Some months ago I found a “weather service” at one of the major news sites here in Sweden. The weather site, obviously, shoved small maps. You could then look at the forecast. The only way to get this working was to check the option “Allow scripts to Change images” under the advanced options. So I did in ver. 1.07.

Now it seems that this option is removed, and it seems to be on by default since the site I was referring to works.

Is this buried somewhere in the about:config?

I may be overlooking something, and should go to sleep now, but I have a real headache and fever and can’t sleep anyway.

It is buried in about:config but it is easier to use the JavaScript Options extension. It brings all of the JavaScript options back.

The about:config setting is dom.disable_image_src_set – it is a boolean and should be set to false if you want to allow JavaScript to change images.

Thank you. Now I at least know where it is. I am not into using extensions; I see no reason.

I minimize my use to avoid inexplicable conflicts, but the Web Developer Extension is just too good not to use. If you do web development, that is.

I see; my “web development” is limited to only complaining to the webmaster if something is wrong.
