Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of Runtime errors when opening websites. Such as
    “Line: 9
    Object expected.”

    When I run the de###### I get,
“An exception type of Microsoft JScript runtime error: “Object expected” was not handled.

    Then a new window with
Source code is not available for the current statement.

    Any ideas?

Can you provide a website or two where this occurs? I’d suspect first a coding error on the part of the website and secondly IE. You should be able to can the error messages by going into Internet Explorer’s Tools menu, selecting Internet Options and then drilling over to the Advanced tab.

Underneath this tab, you will see two settings in “Browsing” that you need to tick or untick (see the attached screenie):

      Disable Script Debugging: checked
Display a notification about every script error: unchecked

      Mark,
I just love this site and you guys!!! Turning off the error message in IE, of course, stop me from seeing it any more. I’ve yet to notice that any of the Java errors have caused anything to work improperly, so simply getting the messages off my screen is a vast improvement.

      Many thanks,

      kk

I don’t mind seeing the error, particularly if I am going to need support on a service I pay for, it can speed things up. However, never ever click Yes to debug on a third party site. There’s nothing you can do, and you end up shutting down IE when you halt the script.

I use a different de###### than most (InterDev), but doesn’t the standard MS script de###### have the detach from process option? That disconnects the de###### without shutting down the browser. Then you can safely close the de######.
