I think what you may want is Conditional formatting for columns A & D such that if Column B = “Y” and Column A is blank then color Column A Red and likewise for column D. :cheers:

Update: I’ve attached a workbook that demonstrates this concept. Please note that column A is checked to see if it is blank and/or not a number. However, I can’t check to see if it is specifically a date. I have formatted column A as a Date in mm/dd/yy format.
