Please refer to my commentary on this same subject as relates to the Firefox browser.

Has anyone found a way (w/o MS Account) to transfer ALL existing Edge Settings over to a new computer install?  Favorites are known and easy, I’m interested in all the other adjustments to Settings, etc that we make to modify Edge to our liking.

All of the profile files are located in the directory:

      %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default

You can see this by entering edge://version into the Edge browser. This will show the full path on the “Profile path:” line. BTW, edge://about lists all of the edge: pages.

Take ALL of the folders and files at the location mentioned above by @EyesOnWindows and copy them to a flash drive/USB thumb drive so that you can put them in the very same place on your new machine AFTER you’ve completed the initial setup of Windows on the new machine.

When you do that, Windows will probably ask you if you’re sure you want to overwrite the existing files, and you want to answer with “Yes”. SO, before actually doing it, take a slow crawl though both directories (the one you put on the thumb drive and the one on the new computer) to make sure that what is going to be replaced matches what is replacing it in terms of file name and approximate size.

That folder on the machine I’m currently using shows up as 196 megs in size, so finding a thumb drive with enough space shouldn’t be a problem.

P.S. Best way to get them all over to the thumb drive and from the thumb drive to the new computer is to just copy the folder labeled “Default”.

I will be moving from an updated Windows 10 Pro machine to a new machine with Windows 11 Pro.  I assume current versions of Edge would match up with base files, however could/would there be files in my currently utilized Profile previously created by usage that would not be present in a brand new Profile?

What IF there are more or less file names?  Would this be a no-go?
