Patch reliability is unclear, but widespread attacks make patching prudent. Go ahead and patch, but watch out for potential problems. |

AskWoody LoungerMay 15, 2001 at 8:05 am #526147I did not install the Outlook upgrade – but will when we get the full product. I was hoping that MS would have put a bit of effort into some of the areas that I felt were lacking commonality. I felt that Powerpoint had some real improvements – but then to really take advantage you will need a lot of screen space…

AskWoody LoungerMay 15, 2001 at 12:57 pm #526172Of course that is the problem with the presentation side of PowerPoint – what alot of people lose site of is that PowerPoint will do other tasks besides creating presentations….I guess like Office2000 I will have to run XP and let it grow on me….I will have to run all three versions of Office side by side to support the disperate versions in our organisation – aren’t I lucky…

AskWoody LoungerJuly 3, 2001 at 4:49 am #526002I use Office97 and Office2000 extensivley in my role as Staff Development Trainer for our organisation – having just been given a copy of OfficeXP 30 dya trial from Microsoft I am wondering why anyone would change to it. Some of the features that I thought would have chnaged in an integrated environment have not and some of the changes seem purely cosmetic. I was hoping that something so simple as the option of selecting where you save your files to would be come the same process in all of the applicatiosn – but no it is still different…so much inconsistency across an integrated application is amazing…I found so many things that could have been changed/improved to make the applications similar for the user that it is shame they (MS) missed the trick!!!
