      Hi, Diegol ~

I recall you used IrfanView for Webshots files, so save 3.80 because the new version removed it upon request of Webshots.

Thanks, Bruce. I didn’t know that.
This is the kind of thing that keeps me saving each single version of every program… I’ll keep 3.80, downloading 3.85 is a must though.

        Hi Bruce

Search Google on “wbc2jpg” for an excellent freeware converter – posted in a number of freeware locations.

        Current version is 246.

          Hi, Peter ~

Thank you. I currently use IrfanView 3.80 which already has the capability to do this, which is really not that often.

Font Pharos….….you wouldn’t happen to know where a free font in the Lexus style may be found, would you?

            Hi Bruce

I assume you want something like this
            http://www.terikahandesign.com/images/font.popup/lexus.html%5B/url%5D

There is a demo font at
            http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=2156%5B/url%5D
which only has a couple of characters missing – depends what you need it for. You could probably fix the missing characters with one of the freeware font creation programs if you wanted to.

A google search on “lexus font download” (without the quotes) appeared to give something to work on.

              Hi, Peter ~

Being a big fan of Google, I have been to the terikahandesign site and that is exactly what I need. I was hoping to find someone’s handiwork posted free, but may have to purchase the real deal.

              Peter

I miss your Font Pharos stuff… Come back soon?

BTW Has your profile suffered from the Dreaded Scroll Wheel Syndrome (DSWS), the bane of all drop-down lists? I wasn’t aware there was a “New South Wales” NewSouthWales in “Bosnia Bosnia and Herzegovina” !!!

              Hi John

I have now moved New South Wales back to the southern hemisphere – hadn’t realised it had strayed so far.

Font Pharos lives on in my mind – one of these days I might do a special – I see Peter Deegan for lunch occasionally (when he comes to rest on his periodical visits to Sydney – between globe hopping ventures) and we’ll discuss.

I have been lurking on this forum for quite some time now and occasionally like to throw my two pence worth in.

Meantime I continue to learn something new every day.

          Hi Peter,

I don’t know which is the current Webshots version, but in ver. 1.3.0.3181 there was an option to export whole collections of photos (from the Photo manager: Collections, Export Photos).
Just in case Webshots might force users to upgrade to a version which won’t allow this, I’ll keep IrfanView 3.80. Having wbc2jpg as well won’t do any harm, so I grabbed it, thanks (32 K zipped). smile

            Hi Diego

My webshots version is 1.3.0.3826 (can be updated by starting a fresh account as I recall) but probably doesn’t matter much.

I note the Collection Export function automatically skips copyright Webshot images, and is there to recover any images you have put into the system, rather than turn their proprietory format into JPGs. I use the converter (I mentioned) export function to turn everything into jpgs which I then set up as my screensaver, using the XP built in screensaver picture show function. This avoids having webshots run all the time – I have a thing about not running anything more than I must, as an ongoing function.

I have been subscribing to Webshots for a couple of years now and have a “screensaver” folder in which I keep the 1600 x 1200 converted jpgs – about 550 so far that I have saved as magic images (running on a 21″ Sony CRT monitor) – very relaxing.

              Hi Peter,

              You’re right.
It’s very likely that Bruce had made me notice that a while ago (when IView 3.80 was released) but somehow I fogot scratch… I’ll just turn this thing off and go take my pills.

              Hi, Diegol ~

You can walk around the collection wizard and go straight to the collection files in the Webby directory.
