As indicated in the Title, I would like to add some mp3 files from my win 10 laptop. ITunes recognizes the iPod but I do not see any way to see files on my PC. Using IOS 14.4

I have a book that was broken down into mp3’s by chapter, appendices etc. Can I add this as a book somehow or just drag & drop into music (if I can find them)?

Nothing like the old IPOd Nano!

    Thnx

I appreciate the links provided @Alex. Very helpful but considering the confusion caused  moving an Audio book over, I can just imagine what music files might present.

I have 37 mp3 files that are chapters from a book. I converted them into one large file using an open source utility named “Mp3 to Ipod/iphone audio book converter.” Then using Itunes, I put this file into Library then copied to audiobooks in menu from the ipod. However, I cannot seem to find said file on Ipod touch. There is an icon w/ the authors name under Books (on Ipod) that does nothing (but I believe that is for read only)  I looked in Files but nothing there either. Any thoughts on where this file may be? Does itunes not really know where to put audiobooks on Ipod touch? Do I need a separate audio book player? The converted file plays fine in itunes (but I think it is mistaken in it’s time shown- it is a 450 page book that I believe takes longer than 1:hr 23 min!)

Apple gave me this Ipod for as a gift due to a mix up on their part so I just figured I could use it as an audio player for music etc …this thing is an IPhone w/o the phone!! It synced itself w/ my iphone which I didn’t want – has all my apps etc -I didnt want a mini me iphone! Its a shame Apple cant/won’t make a simple mp3 player any more!

thanks for your suggestions alex. The file is in m4b format, supposedly ipod audio book format. the file appears in the Books app as an audiobook but it just doesnt play. Also, there is no Music app on this ipod. I do have VLC installed but it doesnt find it either. I think Itunes screwed up….I may be wrong but…..

next I will try to transfer mp3’s. I also have media monkey installed but am hesitant to use the sync option as it doesnt give me the option to choose and I do not want All files synced. this thing hasnly 32 gb storage.

          thanks again.
