    iPhone 13 Mini
Home Screen Edit and other Accessibility, Display and Brightness features

To help avoid sending the Home Screen into Edit Mode unintentionally –
    SETTINGS –
    “Accessibility” –
    “Touch”
    “Haptic”
    Select “Slow” for less sensitivity

NOTE – The Home Screen will continue to go into Edit Mode by touch, but with a bit less sensitivity. The way I’ve managed to have full control is to press the On/Off button at the side to close out the main screen when I’m done with a phone call or with the feature I’m using at the time. If the user accidentally taps on an app in edit mode, a prompt pops up asking if you want to remove it. These apps can be recovered if you hit delete by mistake, but it’s time consuming. Deleting unintentionally hasn’t happened to me yet, other users have complained. A simple Lock feature for the Home Screen apps would be a great improvement, without going to Screen Time, and setting Restrictions to lock each app. Overall, my workaround to avoid keeping the Home Screen up and running, is very annoying. From what I’ve read online at various Apple Support forums, the iPhone 13 has some quirks that need fixing.

Other features I’ve changed as a preference –

    SETTINGS …
    “Accessibility” –
“Tap to Wake” toggled to OFF. Notifications and incoming calls and texts naturally bring the phone to life, any other time in order to activate a function I’ll hit the On button at the side and the Lock Screen pops up.

    “Display and Brightness” –
“Raise to Wake” toggled to OFF. If I want the phone to show its face, or read mine for access, again, I press the On button for the Lock Screen.

Took my iPhone 13 Mini back to the default settings and ditched the customized set up as noted in my original post for this topic. Also did a hard reset and the Home Screen is behaving like any other iPhone I’ve owned, not excessively sensitive to touch.

My overall opinion of the iPhone 13 Mini is good. Replaced my iPhone 8 Plus, had thought about the new SE (3rd Gen), better price and reputation for stability. After looking at both, I went with the 13 Mini because it’s faster, camera has a bit more to it, and the screen on the 13 Mini is a little bigger at 5.4 inches, compared to the SE 4.7 inch screen.

In spite of the 13 Mini possibly hitting the discontinued list (we may know soon with the Apple iPhone 15 Event Sep 12), I’m still happy with it. Here’s a comparison of the 2022 iPhone SE vs the iPhone 13 Mini. This is what convinced me which direction to go for a new phone. https://www.phonearena.com/reviews/iPhone-SE-2022-vs-iPhone-13-mini_id5349
