I hope this means that choosing Firefox 29 for IOS as the default browser will not revert automatically back to Safari as the default browser on my iPhone10R when I restart iPhone in the mornings. I had Fx 28.2 until a bit ago on my iPhone and unknown to me iPhone was reverting to Safari as the default browser when I restarted iPhone. Fx 28.2 was supposed to allow Fx to remain the default browser when chosen but it was one of the zillion bugs (which are driving me crazy) in iOS 14.0.

I see there are several Fx widgets now for iPhone to add to the home screen but the one I tried (Quick View) was a HUGE icon covering up many other icons on my iPhone. It only comes in Medium and Large sizes and Medium is HUGE.

Everyone must be trying to update to iOS 14.1 currently as it is taking WAY LONGER than usual….ahh, as I typed this it started verifying the update…good!

I don’t see any update for iWatch 5 7.0.2 though.

Heck. iOS 14.1 did not fix MMS Messaging. I can receive non imessages on the phone but cannot send any. The phone thinks MMS messaging is not enabled but it is enabled!

Running WatchOS 7.1 beta 3 so the final of 7.1 isn’t far away.

This bug has been fixed in iOS 14.0.1 but now returned with 14.1 after a browser, mail.. update.

There are now numerous tools for creating your own widgets in any size you want.
      There is also Widgetsmith

So it seems that 14.1 isn’t anything special and the bugs are still being worked out? If so then another release will be forthcoming to fix the bugs that were reintroduced after being ‘fixed’ in 14.01?

So far 14.1 is running well for me on my devices. Here’s the article on the third-party browser/mail app issue:

      https://www.macrumors.com/2020/10/21/default-apps-in-ios-14-reset-after-updates/

I’ve gone back to using Safari and Mail across devices. Found it simpler to “just work” instead of messing with third party apps. I still have third party variants installed, but Safari and Mail are my defaults.
