iOS 17 – Huge photos in Contacts takes up 1/2 screen

I “upgraded” to iOS 17 on my iPhone recently.  Although it’s supposed to have some nice new features, there is one glaring ‘Why did they do that’.  The space allocated for a photo a contact takes more than 1/2 the screen.  What were they thinking???  I don’t use photos in my contacts at all, but in the previous version, it only took about 1/4 of the screen, so wasn’t a big deal.  Is there a way to reduce the size of this unused (by me) space?

Here’s another link that refers to contact photos in iOS 17. As I’ve mentioned in my other reply, you can disable your own Contact Poster as shown in the video, but according to this link, https://bgr.com/tech/how-to-disable-ios-17s-annoying-new-contact-poster-feature/, Contact Posters of incoming calls and such from your contacts can possibly still show up on your screen.
